Hi
there, nice to have you on my blog!
My
name is Hollie and I’m based in Liverpool,
in the North West of England, although I’m originally from further up North in
Lancashire. I’m 24 years old and am a graduate in French Language and Literature from the University of Liverpool. I’ve kept this blog since 2015 and consider myself a book and travel blogger. I’m incredibly proud of what my blog has achieved over the last year
and I’m continuing to work on it daily to be the best that it possibly can be.
The
name Hollie in Wanderlust was
inspired by two things- firstly, my love of travelling and the wanderlust I
feel when I don’t get to go to new places for a while. Secondly, my love of
literature and Alice in Wonderland. I combined my name with these two concepts
and voilà, we have Hollie in Wanderlust.
About
me? Sure thing. I’m an absolute bookaholic, needless to say, and I also love a
good clothes and makeup shopping spree. I love turtles more than is possibly
imaginable but I also love a good cat snuggle. I enjoy going out for dinner
with friends. I love gin and tonics and coca cola and buying
new stationery.
On Hollie in Wanderlust you’ll likely find book reviews
and recommendations, although I will throw in the occasional beauty, food and
fashion post for you to feast your eyes on. If you want to work with me
regarding books, then please check out My Review Policy for more information on
the types and format of books I prefer, and for details on whether I’m taking
review requests. If you have any other collaboration requests, then feel free
to get in contact with me by email at holbets@gmail.com.
As a book blogger, I absolutely love receiving requests from publishing houses and authors for me to read their books. However, as time progresses and my blog becomes more known, it is unfortunately becoming more and more difficult to say yes to everything I'm offered.
For this reason, please read my review policy carefully before sending a request for review.
For this reason, please read my review policy carefully before sending a request for review.
If you feel like your book relates to my tastes then please feel free to send me an email at holbets@gmail.com.
At the moment I am NOT OPEN TO UNSOLICITED REVIEW REQUESTS. (as of 20th May, 2018.)
POLICY
1. Print is preferred, and this will be given priority because of ease. This isn't to say that I won't read ebooks, I just have to be particularly interested in the book to accept.
2. I have the right to refuse a book if it doesn't fit in with my tastes or I don't have the time.
3. I also reserve the right to be completely honest in my review. I use a out of 5 rating on each of my reviews and always write spoiler-free. If I like a book, I'll sing it's praises. If I don't, I'll criticise constructively. Reviews are always 100% my opinion and again, this is something I have the right to.
4. I am most likely to say yes to crime/psychological thrillers, contemporary fiction, young adult fiction and dystopian fiction. Again, this isn't to say that I won't read any other genre, I just have a preference towards the aforementioned.
5. I publish all reviews on my blog, goodreads, amazon AND bookbridgr.
6. I will never sell on ARCs to other readers, although with permission from the author/publisher I may pass the book on to other readers after I have finished with it.
7. Review timescales will be discussed prior to receipt of the book. I generally have a 2-4week turnaround for reviews, unless it's a book that I'm really, really interested in reading.
